Can hypnosis make me do or say things against my will?

This is probably the greatest concern about hypnosis and one of the biggest myths! Although stage hypnotists are often seen making people do the strangest things under hypnosis, the truth is that deep down inside, the subjects you see are performing on stage because they want to be outrageous.  Stage hypnosis volunteers are often extroverts, game for a laugh.  The stage hypnotist can recognise the potential star performers and will select them as willing participants. The stage hypntist would never waste their time trying to hypnotise a resistant subject.  All those people are willing to behave that way.  Rest in the knowledge that you will never do anything or accept any suggestion that is in violation of your own morals or principles.

During a hypnotherapy session, if the hypnotist asks you a question you don't want to answer, your unconscious protector will not let you say anything embarrassing or that you don't feel comfortable disclosing.
