Is Ramadan your perfect opportunity to stop smoking for good, and feel good about it?  Not just during Ramadan?  A week into Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, (which this year started on the 28th of June, 2014), is observed by millions of Muslims (also known as Moslems) around the world. It is a time for purifying the body and the mind, during which observant Muslims fast and abstain from worldly pleasures.

For many, one of the most challenging aspects of Ramadan is how to stop smoking during the daylight hours. Depending on the time of year and geographic location, this can mean going without cigarettes for up to 20 hours of the day – no easy feat for those with a nicotine addiction!

However, rather than viewing this as a time of deprivation, it should be considered an opportunity for the renewal of faith and for ridding oneself of the shackles of bad habits. It’s no secret that smoking is a lethal habit that must be relinquished for the benefit of one’s health and the health of those around them, so why not make the commitment to rid yourself of the smoking habit for good.

As you embark upon the challenging journey of renouncing your smoking addiction, hypnotherapy can help you commit to your decision to quit smoking for good. By allowing you to achieve the heightened state of awareness experienced during hypnosis, hypnotherapy can profoundly alter your attitude towards smoking and tap into the emotions and triggers that stimulate the compulsion to smoke – this takes just one session lasting approximately 90 minutes.

The effectiveness of hypnotherapy may vary by person, but at Hypnotherapy Results, a combination of techniques is employed during the session and I always select the best method for the individual, not a one size fits all approach.

Not only are smokers able to quit smoking with this personalised approach, but they are also given the tools and skills to be able to cope with cravings or situations in which they would usually want a cigarette – a strategy that has proven highly successful in getting smokers to quit permanently.  I can get your unconscious mind to seek a healthier way to achieve the same perceived benefit you felt you were getting as a smoker.

It is never too late to consider the benefits of hypnotherapy for quitting smoking if you are based in South London or able to travel down to my Streatham Hill practice. Celebrate Ramadan by starting to treat your body as the temple it is.    I am also available evenings and weekends by prior appointment.
